**YMCA Outside School Hours Care** (OSHC) provides fun, stimulating and safe care for primary and secondary school children before and after school. At OSHC, children have the opportunity to participate in cooking, sport, music, art, dance and so much more.

The Y Queensland’s childcare services has been at the heart of Australian communities for more than 40 years, with our first early learning service opening in Brisbane in 1977 after we identified the need for childcare that focused on helping children grow in body, mind and spirit.

We are currently recruiting for an **Assistant Coordinator** to join our team **at YMCA **Norris Road **Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Service **located in Bracken Ridge.

This is a **permanent part-time **position. Your working hours per week will be 34.5 hours during school term and 38 hours during vacation care time.

**About the service**

**YMCA Norris Road Outside School Hours Care (OSHC)** is located in Bracken Ridge and is the homeland of the Turrbal and Jagera people. The service is licensed for 135 children and offers before school care, after school care and vacation care from 630am and 6pm.

Our building is situated on the senior oval offering an extensive variety of indoor and outdoor experiences, such as outdoor play equipment, oval, undercover area, and multi-courts. Additionally, we have use of the school hall for a range of rainy day and indoor activities. We provide a healthy, delicious and inclusive menu offering vegetarian and dietary requirement alternatives.

Our service philosophy captures our passion to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children and families and that all children have a right to engage in play, recreational opportunities, and cultural and artistically diverse lifestyles. We insist in creating a child interest-based program to ensure children and families are heard and have a sense of belonging, we welcome educators with individual skills and experiences that complement our values.

**About the role**

In this position, you will assist the Service Coordinator with the day-to-day running of the service and management of a team of Educators. You will receive support from a dedicated management team, consisting of the Coordinator, Senior Coordinator Area Coordinator, Regional Manager and the OSHC Manager.

**What will my time look like?**
- The development of quality programs;
- Manage the day to day running of the programs;
- Support the Coordinator with staff management;
- Ensure compliance with policy;
- Undertake administrative requirements;
- Work collaboratively with families and the school community.

**Am I a good match?**
- You are currently studying or completed (or close to completion) a relevant qualification in Childcare or Teaching (Minimum of Diploma in Children Services);
- Can demonstrate experience in assisting with programming and a passion for providing quality childcare;
- Can demonstrate experience in maintaining effective administration and correct documentation in an OSHC service or similar;
- Possess excellent customer service skills;
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- You have a fantastic sense of fun and a tremendous imagination
- You hold or be willing to obtain a current First Aid and CPR certification
- You hold a Positive Notice Blue Card or be willing to obtain one
- Possess strong NQF knowledge (Desirable)
