**About the Role**
As a **Loading Dock Master**, you will play a key role in maintaining the security, safety, and efficiency of the loading dock at a premier A-grade commercial building based in Melbourne CBD. This position involves managing access to the loading dock, coordinating vehicle movements, and overseeing deliveries to ensure they are conducted safely and in line with established procedures. You will be responsible for monitoring activity within the dock area, enforcing safety and security protocols, and ensuring all deliveries and contractor access are managed in an organised and compliant manner. Your role supports the overall operations of the site while helping to uphold a safe and secure working environment.
**Key Responsibilities**
As a Loading Dock Master your core duties will include:
- Monitor and control access to the loading dock, permitting entry only to authorised personnel.
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing deliveries, verifying documentation and ensuring safe vehicle movements.
- Conduct regular safety inspections to ensure the dock area remains hazard-free and compliant with safety regulations.
- Enforce security protocols and monitor for suspicious activity around the dock and access points.
- Manage contractor access, ensuring all personnel comply with safety and security procedures.
- Assist with inventory and delivery verification to ensure accuracy against schedules.
- Respond promptly to incidents, working closely with the control room and other site personnel.
- Maintain accurate records of all deliveries, access logs, and incidents.
- Support emergency response procedures, including evacuation or lockdown protocols.
- Ensure all health and safety guidelines are upheld within the loading dock area.
**Skills & Experience**
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Current VIC Private Security Individual Licence (required)
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications (required)
- Working with Children Check (required)
- Police Check (required)
- Previous experience in a loading dock, security, or facilities coordination role (required).
- Strong awareness of safety procedures and hazard identification in high-traffic areas.
- Ability to manage vehicle movements and delivery schedules in a controlled and professional manner.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with contractors, drivers, and building personnel.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and respond effectively to incidents.
- Familiarity with radio communication protocols and incident reporting processes.
- Basic computer literacy for logging deliveries, writing reports, and updating records.
