Public Sector People are working in partnership with a Council based in Melbourne's west, who are now hiring an experienced Safety and Wellbeing Advisor to join their People and Development Department.

In this role you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and promoting the implementation of an organisational wide Safety Management System and positive health and safety culture; providing support and advice to improve safe systems of work, reduce and prevent workplace injuries.

**Duties will include but not limited to**:

- Facilitating the review and development of Council's Safety Management System and positive safety culture
- Providing support and advice to leaders and staff to improve safe systems of work
- Involvement and implementation of OHS programs, practices, and training, aimed at increasing awareness of OHS compliance
- Maintaining and overseeing OHS and related practices to ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant working environment for Council employees, contractors, and visitors in accordance with legislative requirements

**Requirements Include**:

- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or substantial relevant experience
- Experience in developing and implementing OH&S systems
- Qualification in facilitating Workplace Assessment and Training is desirable
- Current first aid certificate
- Experience in workers compensation and return to work requirements.
- Some experience with HR generalist practices is desirable
- A current Victorian driver’s licence
- A current Working with Children Card
