**The Role**
Within this team, the establishment and maintenance of relationships, both internally and externally, is paramount. Internally, manage assigned team to foster and develop a cohesive relationship with other areas of the Branch. There is also a requirement to build and sustain effective relationships within the team and encourage them to actively participate in any group activities. Work collaboratively, operate as an effective team member and provide constructive feedback. Engage and negotiate with the Industry Partners and Commonwealth stakeholders on complex contract management issues to mediate or identify alternative courses of action to meet contract deliverables. Demonstrate flexibility and agility to respond to the changing context and shifting priorities of the Defence environment and to realign resourcing requirements to meet new demands when necessary.
This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. **About our Team**
Logistics Operations Branch (LOB) is an integrated team of Military, Civilians (APS) and Industry Partners who contribute to the JLC mission of enabling Australian Defence Force (ADF) operations and readiness through adaptive, effective and efficient military logistics. The Contract Manager, Distribution is part of a small team of personnel positioned in the Directorate of Warehousing & Distribution Services (DWDS) within Joint Logistics Command (JLC) Logistics Operations Branch (LOB).
LOB provides national warehousing, distribution and inventory support services, which are delivered by Industry Partners in support of ADF operations and activities. The successful applicant will provide support to the current distribution contract management team, new Defence projects and also may provide support to the development of any new contract.
This is a role in which you will have a high level of stakeholder engagement both within and external to Logistics Operations Branch (LOB). You will be accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex contract management tasks within an integrated workforce. You will need to work independently whilst contributing as an effective team member. You will also need to have sound interpersonal, communication, analytical, negotiation and liaison skills and understand the needs of our stakeholders to produce outcomes and results in support of contractual obligations.
