**About the Role**
The Event Officer is responsible for providing event management guidance, coordination, and collaboration with key stakeholders, to support successful, vibrant and inclusive community events in Baw Baw Shire that are safe, compliant and effective.
They will be responsible for the creation, planning and delivery of Council’s community and civic events as required.
- Tertiary qualification in Project/Event Management or equivalent, or lesser formal qualifications with work skills and relevant experience.
- Proven performance in the development and implementation of programs to encourage community and event development or similar.
- High level of organisational, administrative and IT skills.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in the development and implementation of Event Management Plans and Risk Management Strategies for outdoor events.
- Current Drivers Licence.
- Experience in a Local Government or other community cultural environment is desirable.
- Leadership skills including management of service providers, committees and volunteers.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of organising events, activities and attracting funding.
- Demonstrated understanding of risk management, event compliance, production, administration and emergency management issues relating to conducting major events and activities.
- Ability to plan, implement, evaluate and manage complex, time-sensitive and/or
multiple projects.
- Ability to prioritise workload within a busy environment and conflicting priorities.
