With an expected mine life of 30+ years, it will underpin a long-term iron ore business and provide sustainable benefits to the regional community in which we operate in. The operation includes a large open pit mine, complex ore processing and beneficiation plant and significant infrastructure and logistics networks.

We are seeking an **Environment Advisor** to join our Environment & Communities team based in the Perth office. The Advisor is responsible for providing support in environmental management, approval and compliance for the Greater Karara Project through initiatives to improve Karara’s Environmental Management System (EMS) and performance.

There will be some ad hoc travel to the Karara Mine Site to meet with internal stakeholders and assist as required.

**Key Responsibilities;**
- Implement the Karara EMS and assist in continually improving environmental performance.
- Implement and contribute to the annual environmental workload plan.
- Maintain the integrity of the environmental obligations and risk registers.
- Collate and quality assurance of environmental monitoring data to ensure compliance with all approvals and regulatory commitments.
- Review environmental data and analyse trends for internal and external reporting.
- Assist in conducting desktop compliance audits and site inspections/audits and identify suitable corrective and preventative actions for implementation.
- Compile environmental reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate and liaise with environmental consultants and contractors, as required.
- Collate and quality control data supplied to the contractor for reporting purposes such as NPI, NGERS and Energy Regulator.
- Assist with document control reviews of internal environmental documentation to maintain functionality, compliance and contingencies to ensure relevant environmental impacts are effectively managed.
- Provide general environmental advice to Karara employees and contractors.
- Support the delivery of environmental presentations, meetings or workshops, as required.
- Other tasks reasonably assigned by Senior Advisor Environment & Tenements in line with skill set and competency.

**Essential Qualifications and Experience;**
- Tertiary qualification in Environment, Science or similar related to the role
- Demonstrated knowledge, experience and understanding of environmental legislation, regulations and compliances including but not limited to the EP Act 1986 and Mining Act 1978
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a mining company or consultancy
- Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook and Excel
- National Police Clearance
- Permanent work rights in Australia
