- UGL Defence is currently working towards the award of a fuel related Asset Management, Operations and Maintenance contract with Defence. We are recruiting an Environmental Advisor to join our business in what is an exciting and unique opportunity to work in the Australia Defence environment to support the national security requirements of the Nation.

**The Role**

The Environmental Advisor, reporting into the HSSE Manager, will be based in our newly created Defence Hub in North Sydney, supporting sites and locations across the country. The Environmental Advisor is responsible for, but not limited to:

- Support the day-to-day environmental management on each site
- Support the preparation and implementation of Environmental Management Plans
- Liaise with the project management team, employees, subcontractor, and client representatives and build environmental awareness and capability across the project
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements and all relevant Company policies and processes.
- Participate in environmental risk assessments and design reviews.
- Coordinate project level Environmental and Sustainability reporting and assist with environmental approvals, audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
- Undertake environmental monitoring where required (eg. water, soil, noise, vibration and air).
- Identify and implement initiatives in environmental practices.

**On Your First Day we expect you to bring to the team**:

- A recognised degree in Environmental Management or other relevant tertiary qualification.
- Minimum 3 years previous experience within the oil & gas or related industry. Defence Base/site related experience an advantage
- A sound knowledge of environmental legislation and requirements.
- Current holder, or ability to obtain a Security clearance
- Willingness and ability to travel to Defence sites across the country
