Our client is a public research university based in Melbourne. The university has state of the art facilities and is known for making a positive difference in the lives of its students, partners and communities.

**About the role**

The role will join a team of professional counsellors, with qualifications in psychology and social work. Provide students with confidential short term individual counselling and related support. This involves helping the student with referrals to other services within the university and the local community. In this position, you will support students who are experiencing pressures, challenges and demands that are impacting their studies and everyday life.

**Experience and skills**:

- Membership of AASW (Social Work) or registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency.
- Must have experience, post-qualification, in assessment, evidence-based therapeutic interventions and case management, including working with complex client presentations and diverse client groups.
- Ability to conduct individual counselling sessions with students (face to face, online and telephone), including students with complex presentations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, especially the capacity to work collaboratively and cooperatively in small teams.
