**About the job**:
The Finance Operations team manages Google's cash transactions on a global basis and ensures that Google's incoming and outgoing cash processes are controlled, effective and efficient. As a member of this team, you'll find innovative ways to manage our complex set of transactions. You'll make processes more efficient and scalable, work to ensure the highest level of quality of our operations, and proactively minimize operational risk. Externally, you collaborate with our extended workforce partners and internally, you will collaborate across the multiple areas of the Financial Operations team.

The International Controllership team seeks to ensure that any Alphabet company can do any business in any country. To realize this insight and operate in a responsible and controlled manner we take a risk based approach and align resources with jurisdictional and regional requirements. This organization therefore forms an integral part of Alphabet’s global controllership, working closely with our global operations team, professional service providers, and the broader finance, tax, legal, and other teams.

Alphabet’s accountants are a savvy bunch who handle the core accounting and compliance responsibilities at Alphabet. As a member of this team, you know your accounting principles and the full financial process end-to-end. You'll advise on financial matters required by governmental regulations, you will review, analyze, and interpret financial reports and all this sounds like fun to you. Every day is a new challenge, and you're continuously looking for ways to get better at what we do, in the most efficient way possible.

The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead the implementation and operationalization of international financial reporting policies, including the identification of process improvement and opportunities for further consistency.
- Partner effectively with external reporting process leads, Country Controllership team, other finance and non-finance stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of accounting policies.
- Design and implement financial reporting process controls in line with documented policy and controls framework.
- Ensure process resiliency and effective change management as our policies and processes evolve because of new challenges, system implementations or as Alphabet continues to grow and mature internationally.
- Provide consultation and advice to controllership for accounting and disclosure queries arising under various reporting frameworks (e.g., international financial reporting standard (IFRS) or local gaap), such as IFRS conversion, IFRS conventions, and statutory financial statement disclosure requirements.
