Our client is a well-known QLD brand, working with Queenslanders to help improve their lives They are looking for a Development Team Lead to join their team on a permanent basis, managing a small team of developers (5-7). The role will involve recruitment, professional development, and performance management, while also providing architectural oversight and depth of knowledge in the AWS space.

The position will see you working with the team to rebuild a legacy system into a microservices architecture; API first, cloud-based system. Your team will be working with Java Spring on customer facing and internal facing systems and although you won’t be coding day to day, your ability to get in and look at code and solve problems with the team will be highly regarded.

**Role Requirements**:

- 8+ years of experience in software engineering delivering solutions across mobile and cloud platforms.
- Solution design architecture experience
- Extensive Java development experience - Spring Framework, Core Spring, Spring MVC.
- Experience managing teams, including setting up PIP’s, doing performance management and other HR level management tasks
- Experience working in an agile environment
- Serve as a thought leader/ technical lead, providing guidance on building APIs from AWS in alignment with best industry practices
