We are seeking an experienced Team Lead - Cloud Managed Services to oversee a team responsible for delivering managed AWS infrastructure services to multiple customers. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable infrastructure solutions. You will work closely with Service Delivery Managers to understand customer priorities, resolve complex issues as a key escalation point and ensure positive business outcomes.

Job responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of engineers managing AWS-based infrastructure across multiple clients.
  • Allocate tasks, manage team capacity, and ensure timely delivery with high service quality.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex technical incidents, including participating in the on-call roster (Level 3).
  • Collaborate with Service Delivery Managers to align technical solutions with customer needs and business objectives.
  • Represent the engineering team in client meetings, service reviews, and incident debriefs.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to organizational policies, standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain visibility of client environments, risks, and commitments, ensuring proactive support.
  • Drive adoption of Infrastructure as Code, automation, and observability best practices.
  • Oversee upgrades, changes, and continuous improvements in client environments.
  • Contribute to technical presales discussions, identifying new service opportunities and scoping solutions with clear commercial considerations.
Job qualifications Technical Skills
  • Strong experience across AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, etc.).
  • Proficient with Terraform and other IaC tools (CloudFormation desirable).
  • Hands-on CI/CD pipeline experience (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar).
  • Strong containerization and orchestration skills (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS).
  • Knowledge of automation and scripting for infrastructure management.
  • Solid background in Linux and Microsoft administration and scripting.
  • Experience with observability platforms (CloudWatch, Datadog, ELK, Dynatrace a plus).
  • Strong understanding of backup, disaster recovery, networking, and security.
  • Exposure to Azure or GCP is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices or ITIL processes is a plus.
Professional Skills
  • Proven experience leading or mentoring engineers, either as a team lead or senior engineer.
  • Experience working in a managed services or multi-client environment.
  • Skilled at balancing multiple client demands and priorities.
  • Confident decision-maker under pressure, especially during incidents.
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience collaborating with Service Delivery or Service Desk teams.
  • Ability to translate business needs into clear technical delivery plans.
  • Strong client engagement and service delivery background, including onboarding and handovers.
  • Collaborative leadership style with a focus on team growth and development.
  • Commercial awareness to align service delivery with business objectives.
