**Position Information**:
Karabar High School is a partially Selective High school on Ngambri and Ngunnawal lands in Queanbeyan, in the border region of NSW and the ACT.

The school has a current enrolment of 1045 students in years 7-12, including 9% Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and 9% English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D).

Karabar High School is committed to high expectations and opportunities for all. The school provides an inclusive and supportive environment that allows each student to develop to their potential with an academically selective stream in Years 7-10, a Performing Arts stream in Stage 4, and six special education classes (MC, IM and Tutorial).

1. Proven ability to promote, establish and lead productive partnerships within the school and the wider community that improve educational outcomes for a diverse range of learners.

2. A highly visible and inclusive leader with demonstrated ability to build capacity in others and lead early career and experienced teachers, creating a culture of continuous improvement, reflective practices and high expectations.

3. Demonstrated collaborative leadership with proven ability to lead data driven decision making and evidence-based practices in designing whole school initiatives that enhance the school’s strategic improvement plan.

4. Inspiring, innovative and engaging leader who has demonstrated experience developing and embedding procedures and practices that support student wellbeing, positive behaviour, engagement and success.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice

2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs

3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams

4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents

5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning

6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
