**Position Information**:
Bulli High School is a comprehensive coeducational high school in the Northern Illawarra, situated on Dharawal Country between the escarpment and the ocean, adjacent to Bulli Beach. Our geographical location provides unique learning opportunities for our students who have a deep respect for the traditional custodians of the land they live and learn on. Our current enrolment is 1,065 students. Forty-five students identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and 115 students have a language background other than English. The school features a Support Unit which has four classes for students on the Autism spectrum.
**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria,
Demonstrated capacity in whole-school planning to lead initiatives supported by data-driven practices, evaluative processes and evidence-informed pedagogy, to facilitate curriculum reform, student engagement and high academic achievement.
Ability to work collaboratively and strategically as a member of the senior executive in effectively implementing and managing daily operations, school processes and communication systems, to ensure consistency in expectation and practice to meet the academic needs of students.
Highly approachable and responsive leadership that facilitates the effective management of student wellbeing, including complex case management, engaging key stakeholders in nurturing positive relationships across the school and its wider community.
Dynamic, visible and instructional leadership that empowers and strengthens the capacity of executive and teaching staff to enhance collective efficacy of staff and learning success for students in a culture of continuous improvement.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
