Management account role, Hourly $65 to $75 per hour for a minimum 6 months +

This large central department runs a number of large-scale projects and program. The programs are high on the government agender, worth Billions of dollars and the work is widely spoken about in the media.

**Your new role**
Working in a small team delivering you will provide support and advise on Financial, procurement and policy to branches to insure best practice across the department.

Key duties of this position include:

- Analysing, interpreting, evaluating, and reporting on financial and non-financial matters including providing advice to stakeholders.
- Managing month end processes including accrual and journal reviews, analysing results to inform stakeholder decision making.
- Managing the monthly reporting processes for departmental, administered and capital project budgets.
- Providing guidance and assistance in the development and input of internal budgets, forecasts, and various departmental and management reporting
- Increasing financial literacy by providing training and guidance to stakeholders.
- Identifying and implementing improvements to current business practices.

**What you'll need to succeed**
To succeed in this role, you will be proficient in Microsoft Excel and have knowledge and experience in within a similar role. With Well-developed communication skills including the ability to negotiate outcomes and deliver quality advice on complex and sensitive issues to diverse audiences. With the ability to advise on the Commonwealth financial management framework within the guidelines of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability (PGPA) Act 2013 and other complex legislation. Some experience with the government charging framework and cost recovery matters is highly desirable.
