Ecosure is seeking an enthusiastic **Ecologist** to join our central Queensland Wildlife team, based in Rockhampton. This role would suit an experienced fauna ecologist or wildlife biologist who is seeking to manage their own projects while furthering their experience and knowledge in the field.

As an ecologist, you will manage multi-faceted projects from inception to completion, undertaking work for a range of clients in the renewables, local and state government and construction sectors.

Key project areas for the role include:

- management of small to medium-sized projects
- wildlife population assessments, fauna surveys and threatened species monitoring
- pre-clearance surveys and fauna spotter catcher works
- compilation of wildlife management plans for a range of threatened and/or pest species
- human-wildlife conflict mitigation and co-existence
- threat identification and mitigation including pest animal management strategies.

**About You**:
**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- qualifications in one or more of wildlife biology, ecology, environmental science or related disciplines
- understanding of wildlife management principles and fauna survey methods
- experience working within a commercial consultancy or a similar multi-faceted fast paced work environment
- proven track record of managing project timeframes, field resources, and budgets
- have working knowledge of relevant Australian legislation, planning policy and, best practice guidance, and how these relate to projects
- excellent communication and presentation skills and an ability to convey information accurately
- fluent proposal and report writing ability and technical writing skills
- strong OH&S standards and the ability to prioritise the safety of the teams in the field
- an Australian manual driver’s licence.

**Overall, the following skills and attributes would be highly regarded**:

- graduate degree (master or doctoral)
- experience with managing projects in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and/or exposure to NetSuite
- ArcGIS or QGIS mapping experience
- Drone experience or remote pilot licence
- Current first aid certificate
- 4WD experience and training
- construction white card
