Head of Risk, Wib Div Oversight, Treasury and Fm

**How will I help?**

We have an excellent opportunity for a Head of Risk to join our Westpac Institutional Banking (WIB) and Group Treasury Risk team.

You will provide independent risk oversight to Financial Markets, WIB Operations, WIB HR, WIB Finance (collectively 'WIB teams') and Group Treasury including operational risk, ensuring risk decisions remain consistent with risk appetite, enabling development and monitoring of a strong risk culture, embedding the 3LoD model, and embedding supporting frameworks and policies into the second line to meet regulatory and governance requirements.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Provide 2LOD Oversight over Group Treasury and WIB businesses (Financial Markets, WIB Operations, WIB Finance (FM Product Control) and WIB HR functions).
- Provide oversight of key WIB divisional artefacts including the risk profile, risk appetite statement and risk management framework implementation, including oversight of the WIB Chief Operating Office.
- Provide independent advice and support to the relevant Treasury and WIB Leadership Teams on risk appetite, risk profile and control environment.
- Provide 2nd line independent challenge and oversight of the design and implementation of material projects within Treasury and WIB to ensure that risks are well managed and controls are appropriately designed, tested and implemented. Full oversight of High-risk projects as agreed with dCRO and delivered risk oversight of all projects impacting the control environment.
- Drive embedding, monitoring and continuous improvement of the Risk Management Framework and key supporting policies to achieve business objectives in line with regulatory and policy requirements.
- Improve risk involvement in execution to simplify and speed delivery
- In partnership with Treasury and WIB risk teams, ensure regular Board and Executive reporting to ensure the appropriate governance and escalation of key issues, emerging risks and incidents.
- Act as a central contact point for WIB and Treasury 2LOD, co-ordinating activities across the risk profile to support a holistic approach to risk management
- Represent WIB and Treasury Risk on key initiatives as agreed with the dCRO and as outlined in annual oversight plans

**What do I need?**
- 15+ years global risk and compliance experience in a major financial institution
- Deep understanding of Banking international Compliance, Regulatory requirements, financial sector trends and disruption
- Demonstrated Risk and Compliance experience
- Strategy development and execution
- Strong business acumen with a commercial approach
- Broad financial sector experience including risk challenges, trends, competitive & regulatory environment
- Strong leadership and people management
- Ability to influence others to drive results
- Highest level of senior stakeholder management
- Superior presentation and communication skills
- Demonstrated success leading cultural transformation and driving major change
- The ability to meet constantly changing deadlines and prioritise workloads while being able to use one owns initiative
- Well developed analytical skills to identify business requirements, solve complex problems
- Excellent negotiation & influencing skills
