Do you have experience in purchasing, inventory control, or procurement? Our client, a national market leader and premium supplier of quality flour-based products, seeks a purchasing officer to manage all aspects of raw materials and packaging procurement.

**Primary Objectives**:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will ensure quality, cost, availability and working capital is optimised to meet business objectives. Additionally.
- Oversee procurement activities such as purchase orders, inventory control, contract negotiations, and requests from suppliers.
- Liaise with suppliers to accelerate materials and ensure orders are fulfilled according to timelines and schedules.
- Estimate and establish cost parameters and budgets for purchases, while maintaining accurate data records.
- Review, develop and ensure compliance with procurement-related systems and activities.
- Assist in new product development by corresponding with potential suppliers to trial and source ingredients.
- Investigate material delays in conjunction with the operations manager that affect production output and stock shortage.

**What you will need to succeed**:
Demonstrated procurement experience in a similar role ideally in the manufacturing industry, alongside knowledge of ERP/ MRP systems.

It is important you have excellent communication, negotiation, and computer skills, along with strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
