**This position is an exciting and new opportunity to work with Medtronic’s Patient Monitoring, Respiratory Interventions business. Currently a part of Medtronic, these businesses are being transitioned either into a new stand-alone company (currently referred to as NewCo) or will be merged into the business of another company. While you will start your employment with Medtronic, upon establishment of NewCo or upon the transition of the business unit to another company, in approximately 12-15 months your employment will transfer to one of these entities and you will no longer be employed by Medtronic
The business will have the same singular focus, financial commitment, deep domain expertise, and global footprint needed to accelerate the development and commercialization of affordable and scalable healthcare technologies.
**A Day in the Life
**This is an exciting opportunity to be an integral member of our highly successful Patient Monitoring, Respiratory Interventions businesses team at Medtronic, delivering world class education for the range of Ventilation products. The Clinical Specialist provides industry-leading product, therapy and clinical training and education to customers in an assigned geographical location to facilitate the highest levels of access, safety and support for patients. Support the marketing and sales team deliver clinical and product education to new and existing employees. Support the business through the provision of expert clinical training in the launch of new or updated Ventilation products.
In this role, you will:
- Plan, organize, conduct and evaluate educational programs for identified stakeholders including Intensivists, Nurses, Biomedical engineers, Surgeons and Registrars
- Deliver regular in-services and presentations to customers regarding the products and therapies
- Sets and achieves SMART goals and actively participates in the performance management process.
- Provide technical backup during clinical or surgical procedures as required
- Organise and facilitate comprehensive clinical evaluations in conjunction with the Territory Managers for the targeted product groups
- At completion of the successful clinical evaluation assist Product Specialist with the commissioning of purchased products, once delivered
- Provide regular feedback to sales and marketing team including suggested actions gleaned from working closely with customers and employees
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders
- Assist with tenders and clinical / technical presentations to customers as required
- Participate in relevant industry meetings and conferences as agreed with direct Manager
- Support Product Managers and Business Development Managers (BDM’s) with developing workshops and delivering technical product and therapy education to employees and customers, including new hire training and support and recertification
- Maintain clinical presence and coordination with state working parties and research groups
- Assist in developing KOL’s and preceptors in conjunction with Territory Managers, Product Managers and BDMs
- Maintain an awareness of the marketplace development needs; working closely with customers and staff to monitor education needs and skills
- All activities must be performed in compliance with the local Quality System.
- Performs duties in compliance with environmental, health and safety related site rules, policies, or governmental regulations.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Travel requirement: 30-40%
**Must Have**
- Minimum Degree in Nursing or Biomedical Engineer
- Hands on experience with an ICU ventilator
**Nice to Have**:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (overseas qualification) and/or 3+ years as a Clinical Nurse Educator or 3 years clinical experience in an ICU setting will be ideal
- Experience delivering technical and clinical education to adults
- Knowledgeable about allocated products and therapies
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and matrixed organizations
- Previous experience in customer relationship management role
- Superior level of clinical and technical competence
- High level planning and organisational skills
- Ability to quickly establish credibility both with sales force, marketing and customers
- Passion for sharing knowledge and facilitating the development of others
- Well-developed written and oral communication
- Highly effective interpersonal skills and excellent presenter
- Copes well under pressure and adapts to changing priorities
- Self-motivated and positive
- Computer literacy including advanced knowledge of the MS office software
