**Who we are**
**Maritime Operations and Regulatory Capability** delivers regulatory assessments and inspections of international vessels to ensure compliance with Australis’s biosecurity requirements. The pathway holds responsibility for administering the Infringement Notice Scheme primarily for infringement notices issued in the airport environment. In addition, the pathway also undertakes a range of enabling services on behalf of the Biosecurity Operations Division including recruitment and workforce planning, learning and development, coaching and regulatory capability and workforce management.

**BOD Technical Training** is a national team who develop and deliver technical training and the Biosecurity Foundation Program (BFP), implement digital and innovative learning and support building capability as well as assessing competency of Biosecurity Officers within the Biosecurity Operations Division (BOD).

**The Job**
Responsibilities and duties of the position include but are not limited to:

- Learning Managers lead the design and delivery of training and assessment tools, under the direction of the Assistant Director Learning and Design.
- Provide leadership and management to staff within their team.
- Manage the design and delivery of training materials within their portfolio for the Biosecurity Operations Division.
- Oversee the consultation, planning and implementation of the delivery schedule to meet both business and resources needs.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, including business areas and other learning and development specialists across the department.
- Provide advice and briefing material to executives on activities requiring decision, endorsement or awareness.
- Provide input, promote and contribute to digital solutions, business improvements, assessment methodologies, innovations and other projects.
- Promote and ensure compliance with departmental work health safety and rehabilitation policies and guidelines and proactively report hazards.
- Promote and ensure compliance with APS Values, Employment Principles and Code of Conduct.
- Actively participate in and contribute to the department’s corporate objectives and support change management, including staff and client participation, consultation, and cultural change.
- Maintain knowledge of and compliance with legislative, financial, and administrative department principles.

**Please note**: The merit pool established through this selection process, which is valid for a period of eighteen months from the date the vacancy was advertised in the Gazette, may also be used to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies in the division where the duties are of a similar nature.
