**About the role**:

**What you’ll do**:
Develop the function annual people plan, working collaboratively and constructively with the Centres of Excellence (CoEs) to leverage expert capability in the design of initiatives, sometimes championing and piloting them, and at other times leveraging and deploying them
Work as a strategic business adviser to key stakeholders, facilitating the delivery of business outcomes through Metcash’s people levers and processes to create a ‘favourite place to work’
Act as the people lead in major business changes, providing key stakeholders with capability, support, and effective people related change management practices to enable and embed major business change
Identify key people priorities and deliver initiatives that improve performance, leadership, culture, and engagement, ensuring outcomes are measured to demonstrate the value added to the business
Identify, design, and implement initiatives to ensure the right talent is in the right place at the right time
With clear workforce plans, ensure effective talent acquisition and proactive sourcing to predict and meet future business needs, working collaboratively with the CoE to plan delivery
Work closely with the People & Culture (P&C) Advice Centre to understand major trends, working proactively to address underlying issues and focusing on continuous improvement
Act as a point of escalation with significant matters e.g., employment relations.
**What you’ll bring**:
Ideally (but not essential) two years’ experience in a P&C generalist role (either in a shared services environment or a P&C BP team)
Ability to influence and build collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including varied levels of seniority
Ability (or capacity to learn how) to effortlessly navigate the dynamics of belonging to a Group function and localised business needs
Sound problem solving skills, able to analyse facts or data to determine root causes of challenges and then able to propose solutions
Either have or developing strong facilitation and coaching skills, with an ability to work effectively at all levels
Constructive and collaborative style
Passion and energy for the P&C function, people agenda and making a difference in a fast-paced, complex business environment.
