**Position Information**:
The Crescent School has become a centre of excellence in the teaching and learning of students with disabilities.

Our children receive highly individualised teaching and learning that addresses their needs and interests and facilitates continued development in these areas.

We have high expectations of students and staff, with the children at the centre of all our decision making and we are committed to the ongoing development and delivery of our exceptional programs.

The enrolment number for the school is 94 students with 20% of students identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and 9% of students whose first language is a language or dialect other than Standard Australian English.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, Approval to teach special education and/or experience.
- Demonstrated expertise and proven successful experience in supporting students with disability, which may include relevant qualifications in inclusion or special education.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyse student data to develop differentiated practice and student improvement.
- Promote equity by recognising the uniqueness of all cultures, languages and communities, with a focus on demonstrated ability to embed Aboriginal people's, histories, culture and languages into teaching and learning programs.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and provide support for staff performance, improvement and conduct, effectively and respectfully, in consultation with senior executive and others.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
