**Position Information**:
School based Delivery Support staff positions based at Gerringong Public School include Assistant Principals Vision. The school-based Delivery Support staff are part of the improved **Team Around a School** way of working. A Team Around a School is a coordinated system-wide approach that utilises the skills and expertise of specialist staff to support every school through a dedicated team. The Delivery Support school-based staff are linked to one of 28 teams across the state, that are each connected to specific Principal Networks. The Team Around a School service is delivered by both school-based and non-school based staff.
The Assistant principal -Visual Impairment is based at Gerringong Public School and covers 44 schools across the Wagga Wagga Directorate. Travel by corporate cars are obtained through Warilla Office.
**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria,
- Special Education qualification in vision impairment and recent school-based experience supporting students with a vision impairment ranging from Pre School to Year 12.
**General Selection Criteria**:
- Educational Leadership skills to build capacity and manage performance of individuals and the itinerant vision team.
- Ability to provide professional learning to school staff in response to the learning needs of students with vision impairment.
- Knowledge of standard operating procedures associated with the allocation of caseload support hours for student’s with vision impairment.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated capacity to build and maintain relationships with students, parents, school staff and outside agencies.
- Demonstrated commitment to improving educational and well-being outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and maintaining their connections to culture.
