**Position Information**:
Goulburn Public School is the oldest school in Goulburn and was established by the NSW Department of Education in 1868. The school is set within attractive grounds with beautiful heritage buildings, close to the centre of town on Bourke Street. The student population is 179, with 25% of the students identifying as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. There are currently 7 mainstream classes and 3 support classes. Goulburn Public School continues to build upon its proud tradition of working with the community to provide the best possible learning outcomes for all students. The school makes valuable use of its excellent facilities by offering a wide range of educational opportunities, with students and teachers working to ensure that everyone reaches their full potential while experiencing success within a harmonious and supportive environment.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria,

1. Approval to teach special education and/or experience leading the teaching of students with special needs including intellectual disabilities, challenging behaviours, and emotional regulation difficulties.

2. Demonstrated capacity to create a culturally inclusive environment where all students are known, valued and cared for and engage a diverse, whole school community to contribute to an inclusive and cohesive school culture.

3. Evidence of collaborative leadership with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive, inclusive, trusting relationships with students, families, staff, external agencies, and the wider community.

4. Demonstrated ability to manage and provide support for staff performance, improvement and conduct, effectively and respectfully, in consultation with senior executive and others.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
