**Role**:
- First Aid Officer
- Roles and Responsibilities
- Ensuring all students and staff are provided with first aid for all accidents and illness.
- Administering all daily and 'as required¿ medications in accordance with school policies and DET guidelines.
- Recording all sick bay visits on Compass, communicating with parents/carers when necessary.
- Attending to major incidents, assisting calling ambulance etc.
- Where relevant communicate with Student Wellbeing and/or teachers when concerns arise.
- Emergency reporting on EduSafe as required.
- Maintain accurate medical records on Cases21.
- Review all student medication for currency and follow up replacements with parents/carers.
- Maintain Anaphylaxis, allergy, asthma, diabetes and all other medical records, ensuring currency of information and update as required throughout school, eg first aid room, classrooms staff room etc as per school policies and DET guidelines.
- Ensure all medical alerts are all current and communicated effectively to relevant staff.
- Ensuring medical supplies are maintained at all times, and all first aid bags and kits are regularly checked and restocked as required.
- Restock yard duty bags regularly during each week as required.
- Maintain first aid room spare clothing, assisting children as required, following DET guidelines.
- Ensure first aid room is clean, well organised and maintained according to OH&S standards.
- Support and cover front desk when required, answering phone calls and assisting parents and staff, making announcements, assisting with lost property etc.
- General administration duties as directed and required.
- An education support class position at this range will perform tasks that are carried out in accordance with guidelines, accepted practice, and school policy under supervision and direction. This may include coordination of other education support class staff within the work area or educational program.
