**About This Opportunity**
The University has acquired a new Human Resources, Workforce Management and Payroll Systems that will function as the Human Capital Management Solution (HCMS). The Senior Data Migration Developer is responsible for physical transformation of data from numerous legacy sources systems into the target model. This role will also require mentoring other staff with the technologies and process in-line with the overall success throughout the lifecycle of the project.
**Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:
- Performing data mining and analytics as well as gathering data from multiple source systems
- Work closely with the project team to understand internal and external data requirements
- Work with the Business Analyst in creating the specifications for the data conversion.
- Working closely with the Technical Lead ensuring an extremely high level of data conversion is achieved.
- Identifying and defining data and system issues and conducting root cause analysis.
- Identify and manage business impacts from data migration including working with data owners to verify and obtain approval that any transformed data retains its accuracy
- Provide reporting on successive loads through the use SSRS, Power BI or other.
- Mentor other team members
- Work as part of a team to ensure success of the overall program is achieved.
**About You**
To be successful in this role you will have the following
- Essential criteria: _
- Relevant degree and extensive experience in Information Technology; or significant progress towards postgraduate qualifications with significant IT or business content; or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training.
- Demonstrated experience with data migration in a large and complex environment with varying levels of data quality.
- The ability to analyse and interpret detailed and complex technical information to ensure well informed decisions throughout the lifecycle of a program
- Desirable criteria: _
- Experience working in the higher education sector.
- Experience on a HRIS or Payroll program.
- Experience with WorkDay HCM, Ramco and/or Nimbus
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a current working knowledge of relevant emerging technologies, methodologies, patterns and best practices, and ability to utilise that knowledge in implementing best practice solutions.
- Strong analytical skills to assess problems and propose appropriate solutions, including those that integrate a range of appropriate processes, systems, data and technologies.
- Excellent technical skills with a number of technologies including as Oracle, SQL Server, Python, Amazon suite, Peoplesoft and others.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills to meet significant deadlines.
- High attention to detail to minimise rework, ensuring the integrity of the data is maintained through significant unit testing.

**Job Type**: Fixed term
Contract length: 15 months
**Salary**: $102,000.00 - $114,000.00 per year

- 8 hour shift
