**What can you expect in a typical day working as a Support Worker?**

Our Learning and Lifestyle hub delivers a diverse range of enjoyable, interactive, and goal-oriented programs. **This includes cooking, baking, arts and crafts, community outings, bowling, gardening and more**

Don't worry if you don't have any prior Support Work experience, we will provide comprehensive training, including buddy shifts, to ensure you have everything you need to succeed in your role

Day to day duties will include:

- Helping people to achieve their NDIS goals by developing important daily skills
- Assisting with aspects of personal care where required to meet the individual needs of the people we support
- Supporting and facilitating community connection by socialising and going on outings
- Helping the people we support to maintain a connection to their family, friends, and services

**What do you need to become a Support Worker?**
- A passion for working in disability services and eager to learn all the skills and knowledge to become a fantastic Support Worker
- You are a true people person who is passionate, patient, empathetic and resilient
- The capacity to meet the physical requirements as some manual handling tasks may be involved
- Commitment to privacy and confidentiality
- Good computer skills and experience using Word, Excel and Outlook
- A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) would be great but it's not a "must"
- **Experienced with complex behaviours are highly desirable**

**What clearances/checks do you need?**
- Hold or be willing to obtain a **Working with Children Check (Blue Card) **& a** NDIS Worker Screening Check **(previously a Yellow Card)
- Hold or be willing to obtain a **First Aid** and **CPR** certificate
- Willing to undertake a **“Fit2Work” National Criminal History Check** (should you be successful)
- Open **Driver's **License with comprehensive insurance to transfer them into the community
