At Diversity Blueprint, we have a dynamic and dedicated support team that delivers person-centred services to maximise an innovative service in order to respect the diversity of our participants as worthy community participants. We nurture their inherent skills, support them to learn new skills and give them fair opportunities to share their skills with their communities. We utilise the key worker model to coordinate services that keep pace with our service users’ aspirations and fit in with their individual needs. Our passion is assisting our community to exercise their human right to pursue their goals, being at the core of their decision-making and to work on things that are important to them.
We are looking for a team player that will:
- Make a difference through providing compassionate care, building trust and taking the lead to support individuals with disabilities access the community, further education, work or training.
- Enhance the lives of our participants by supporting them to live safely and with dignity at home
- Provide services such as personal care, use of manual handling equipment, welcome companionship, light household duties, medication reminders, employment mentorship, transport for appointments, shopping, and or social outings
- Actively support and mentor young people in various group based educational, work based or recreational activities at the centre, at TAFE or other educational institutions, in the workplace and in the community.
- Actively assist with and support young participants’ areas of interest including but not limited to music, computers, film making, board games, improv, theatre and or acting etc.
- Have proven experience working with and mentoring young people with autism.
- Work with people with disabilities to access services and activities in the community.
This role is fast-faced and requires someone that can work with multiple clients and has a high level of initiative. The ability to work and or travel North of the River and South of the River is an advantage.
**Job Type**: Casual
Pay: $30.00 - $34.99 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 3 per week

**Experience**:
- Demonstrated experience as a Support Worker or Mentor: 1 year (required)
**Language**:
- English Fluently (required)
Licence/Certification:
- First Aid Certification (required)
- Working with Children Check (required)
- National Police Certificate (required)
- Driver Licence (required)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (required)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module (required)
- Certificate III Individual Support; equivalent, or enrolled (required)
