Downer has a long-term opportunity for an **Asphalt Plant Coordinator **to join our high performing team based out of **Somerton, Vic **. This role will be responsible for optimising operations for the asphalt production team, monitoring asphalt plant and production performance as well as providing general support to the Production Manager and the wider production team.

**Role Responsibilities**
- Assist the Production Manager in planning and scheduling asphalt production to ensure timely dispatch and successful shift outcomes.
- Maintain accurate production scorecards, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings.
- Collaborate with supervisors to forecast and order raw materials for production and related tasks.
- Monitor plant settings with the laboratory team to ensure production meets specifications and address non-conformance issues promptly.
- Ensure all calibrations and maintenance tasks for the plant are completed on schedule.
- Coordinate with Transport Allocators to ensure safe and legal loading of trucks, while complying with fatigue management requirements.
- Roster appropriate resources in accordance with fatigue management requirements to successfully deliver planned shift outcomes on a weekly basis.

**What you’ll bring**
- Experience with production operations, in particular asphalt manufacturing, concrete, quarrying, crushing or recycling highly regarded.
- Proven experience with planning and scheduling operations efficiently across multiple shifts.
- Strong capability to record and analyse data for identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
- Keen eye for ensuring processes and outputs meet specifications, addressing issues promptly.
- Understanding of relevant production processes and equipment maintenance requirements.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures and systems with the ability to identify hazards to ensure a safe working environment for our employees and visitors.
