Industrial Officer | $125K - $142K + 15.5% Super | 12 Month FTC

Hays Legal has partnered with one of the largest unions in Victoria to recruit for an Industrial Officer position. This is a full time 12 month fixed term contract.

**Your new role**
Reporting to the Senior Industrial Officer, you will represent the industrial and employee relations interests of members in relevant forums, including preparing cases for hearing before the Fair Work Commission or other applicable tribunals. In addition, you will:

- Prepare and present cases before the Fair Work Commission and in other relevant forums as one of the principal advocates for the Branch.
- Negotiate with employers on industrial and employee relations matters, including general employment conditions and specific industrial disputes involving individual members or workplaces.
- Identify opportunities for collective action and campaigns in line with the strategic priorities of the Branch.
- Provide advice and assistance in relation to industrial and employee relations matters at workplaces of Organisers within their team and for portfolios and areas as designated by the Branch Secretary.
- Work collaboratively with Occupational Health and Safety, Professional and Statewide Officerson matters that are not purely industrial in nature.
- Lead and manage a group of Organisers and provide industrial and employee relations advice and assistance to Branch management, staff and members as required.
- Assist with the development of Branch industrial and employee relations strategy and policies and contribute to submissions on behalf of the Branch.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- A sound understanding of the processes of enterprise bargaining and demonstrated experience in negotiating enterprise agreements and negotiations in a wider dispute resolution context.
- Demonstrates sound judgement and the capacity to develop innovative and creative approaches to addressing issues.
