As the Coach - (Sport) for Brisbane State High School, you will: - Make a positive impact on the engagement and outcomes of students and staff within the extracurricular programs - Design and enact appropriate professional development aligned to staff development needs to improve student outcomes - Assume a key role within the school leadership team reporting to the Head of Extra Curricular Activities and working alongside the support officers to deliver a highquality program - Develop and maintain a culture that encourages staff, student, alumni and parental involvement in extracurricular programs - Work collaboratively to improve the teaching and learning practices within the extracurricular program through coaching and mentoring. As the Coach - (Sport), you will have responsibility for the following: - Lead and support the QGSSSA/GPS within the school community - Lead the systematic growth and development of coaches, managers and players to ensure each program is demonstrates improvement each year - Lead the development, implementation, and review of sports/activities each season to ensure best practice principles and ways of working are embedded - Assume a leadership role within the relevant organisations (ie QGSSSA/GPS) - Collaborate with the HOD Extra-curricular to delivering a high-quality program aligned to the schools values and priorities - Visible expertise, visible progress and visible culture - Establish and maintain systems that ensure EC is sustainable and efficient as well as enabling a focus on the strategic direction of the program - Design and enact appropriate professional learning aligned to staff development needs and promoting evidence-based communities of practice to improve student outcomes - Improve capacity of programs by using evidence-based assessment, supporting staff in the analysis of systemic and student data to inform pedagogical practices - Build positive, professional relationships with networks inside and outside of the school community - Lead and support the extra-curricular program within the school community to operationalise the development, implementation and evaluation of extra-curricula programs at a school level - Provide discipline specific knowledge and advice to school leadership teams to contribute to the strategic goals of extra-curricula - Provide leadership and support to Extra-Curricular Support officers to ensure the operational needs of the program operate at a high level **Applicants for these positions must possess**: - A relevant teaching qualification.
