The Eligibility Officer is one of the first points of contact for all claims coming into the business so is at the frontline of the claims experience for our workers and employers. The purpose of this role is to investigate complex claims and make decisions on whether to accept or decline. This role encompasses the investigating, strategising, tracking, follow-up and determination of complex claims to assist in achieving evidence-based decisions and the best possible outcomes for all stakeholders.

This will be a **permanent** position commencing **immediately** based in the **Adelaide **office, with flexibility to work from home.

**YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Take calls from the work queue and manage enquiries accordingly
- Determine liability on a variety of psychological and physical claims
- Request information required to assist in the liability assessment process and follow up
- Ensure that allocated work is actioned within appropriate timeframes
- Proactively manage claim determinations for complex claims, ensuring clear documentation of actions throughout the determination process
- Daily assessment and authorisation of payments
- In conjunction with the Team Leader identify, develop and implement effective strategies to support the achievement of key performance and remuneration measures

**ABOUT YOU**
- Previous experience in a similar role within worker’s compensation or insurance and/or professional services or previous experience within a legal environment
- Strong customer service skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and organisational skills
- High level problem solving and sound decision making
- The ability to effectively negotiate and influence
- Tertiary studies in business, law or allied health is advantageous
