**Your new company**
Hays is working with a global leader in industrial garnet who is looking for an Environmental Officer to join their team on a permanent basis. This position is based in Geraldton, working on a 5:2 roster. A bus will pick you up and take you to and from the site each day.
**Your new role**
As the Environmental Officer, you will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Assist with maintaining site compliance with relevant environmental licences and approval documentation, including conducting internal environmental audits and inspections.
- Assist with report and approval documentation development (such as clearing permits, works approval, licence amendment etc.)
- The ability to work independently and undertake environmental monitoring (including groundwater monitoring, dust monitoring etc.)
- Contribute to interpreting environmental monitoring, groundwater and dust monitoring
- Contribute to interpreting environmental monitoring data, identifying adverse trends and reporting to the Environmental Specialist
- Assist in the maintenance and development of the companies' environmental management systems
**What you'll need to succeed**
- Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or equivalent
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Competency in word and excel
- An ability to build strong working relationships with people from a wide range of backgrounds and work collaboratively to deliver great outcomes
