About the role

What you need to know:

- Working closely with the Northern Regional Manager, to manage all aspects of a designated A&H broker portfolio including underwriting, profitability, budgeting, renewal strategy, distribution strategy, contractual obligations and product development.
- Underwrite and manage large/complex Corporate Travel, Group Personal Accident and Expat/Inpat accounts.
- Achieve new business, retention and loss ratio targets (individual and team) by establishing strategic targeted marketing and cross marketing objectives including broker action plans.
- Increase market share through visitation and improved relationships with key internal/external partners
- Takes an active role in building the infrastructure, workflow, strategies and processes to support the A&H department.

What we’re looking for:

- Proven experience in underwriting and managing an Accident and Health portfolio
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills and someone that thrives in a team environment, is proactive and solutions driven.
- Strong account management skills with a proven track record of developing solid internal and external customer relationships
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Superior presentation, organisational and analytical skills
- Sound understanding of insurance industry and underwriting
- The skills to source, analyse and implement new distribution channels
- Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
