This position is a strategic marketing lead for recommendations into the NPI process and Resource Industry (RI) commercial representative on the Product Group’s NPI team. Specifically, the role is responsible for developing global product critical customer requirements and product functional specifications for input to the WW Product Group’s NPI programs.
This role is a key interface between the Product Group and Regional Product Marketing Teams. You will be responsible for leading projects of Medium/Long Term.
**What you will do**:
- Identify product commercial issues and develop strategies to overcome them globally.
- Make market-driven recommendations on PINS, units, and growth strategies across multiple industries to achieve Core Industries PINS and revenue targets globally.
- Support the development of defined marketing programs to achieve a plan for machine unit & volume targets, PINS objectives, and net price realization globally.
- Be the Global Voice of Market input to the WW Product Value Stream Manager and NPI Gate Review process.
- Lead global product initiatives for Operating Profit After Capital Charge (OPACC) improvement, price/value assessments, and recommendations.
- Lead price/product positioning projects spanning across regions and global price realization targets.
- Lead analysis of key competitors’ global merchandising strengths, weaknesses, and tactics.
- Responsible for Product family (and model level) alignment between Long Term Forecast (LTF), Gate Review Commitments (volumes, PINs, Price), Price Plans, Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), Sales Variance targets, OPACC goals, and provide clarity in communications to PG.
- Develop global go-to-market plans and priorities, pricing strategies, customer loyalty improvement projects, and global LTF coordination.
- Full sales activity monitoring and reporting worldwide.
- Be the “Go to person” for issues related to achieving sales plan (Pricing, Product, availability, coverage).
- Provides consulting and project services covering NPI, market, and distribution needs to stimulate breakthrough solutions that would help in market leadership. Incumbents provide direction for future product and industry needs and shares this expertise at higher industry levels with business unit management.
- Manage compliance assignments and keep up to date with new industry trends, changing technology and regulations affecting the competitive environment.

- Good human relations skills are required to develop a collaborative/cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the business unit.
- The position requires strong leadership capabilities, organizational and analytical skills, and high proficient with working team dynamics and interpersonal relationships to successfully influence others and achieve challenging goals across the global Caterpillar enterprise.
- Generally, requires extensive travel to understand worldwide business conditions. Incumbent is developing expertise within government agencies, national associations, dealers, and customer groups.
**Degree and Experience Requirement**:
- University degree or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of experience in engineering or technical sales, with a good working understanding of the needs of customers, dealers, and product groups.
- Previous experience delivering price realization targets, OPACC initiatives, launching new products, NPI marketing recommendations.
- Must demonstrate product knowledge, NPI process understanding, and experience working price/value analysis and disconnects.
- The position requires a broad business background, and be willing to be a strong advocate of the customer and the enterprise.
**Additional information**:
- The location for this position is Brisbane or Perth.
- This position will require 30% of global travel.
