The ACT Renewable Energy Innovation Fund (REIF) was established in 2016, as a result of funds secured during the ACT Next Generation Renewables Auction rounds. The principal objective of the Fund is to drive the development of a vibrant, sustainable, export-oriented renewable energy industry in the Territory to create jobs and grow and diversify the ACT economy. In particular, the Fund may be used to support early-stage and exploratory applied research, development and deployment, and resulting emerging ventures, in the renewable energy sector in the ACT. The Industry Advisory Board (the Board) constitutes a group of leaders from the commercial, research, and innovation communities, appointed by the responsible Minister, to guide the strategic direction of REIF and the ACT Government’s renewable energy innovation and investment priorities to ensure maximum benefits for the ACT economy and community.

**Job description**

The Board will provide input and guidance over four areas: - Fund operational strategy: providing guidance on the effective governance and strategies to maximise outreach of the REIF; guidance on metrics and tools to monitor and evaluate REIF innovation activities;
- Funding opportunities: identifying and evaluating funding opportunities for the REIF and ACT-based renewable energy organisations; where appropriate, identifying investment frameworks to leverage REIF funds;
- Industry innovation policy: providing strategic advice on the future direction of ACT Government’s renewable energy industry innovation policies and initiatives;
- Industry development strategy: providing advice on the renewable energy industry development strategy to the ACT Government. Board members must understand and work within the ACTPS Code of Conduct and the ACTPS values of respect, innovation, collaboration and model behaviour consistent with the ACTPS Respect, Equity & Diversity framework.
