**The company**:
The Thales Australia AWS business offers ship repair, maintenance and asset management / in-service support capabilities for commercial and naval ships in Australia. The business also offers the provision of docking, reticulated services and facility maintenance within Garden Island.

**The role**:
Opportunity for a Class Manager to join our team based at Garden Island Defence Precinct. The purpose of this role is to establish and maintain relationships with assigned Asset Class Maintenance Management functions, providing oversight of the Maintenance Services for the assigned Asset Class, ensuring all performance obligations are being met, and opportunities for maintenance optimisation are being captured.

Duties will cover all aspects of Service Management including; Forging a collaborative and service-centric culture and ensuring all relevant (ship) class objectives in relation to safety, cost, time and quality are achieved.

Responsibilities include:

- Team leadership and management
- Providing contact services for assigned Asset Class
- Understand the maintenance philosophy and participate in Annual Work List (AWL) and Annual Work Plan (AWP) development reviews for the assigned Asset Class
- Attending Project Executive Board meetings (PEBs)
- Developing and chair planning conferences, and stage gate reviews
- Providing Class monthly status, current estimate to complete and variance analysis
- Attending Class planning and progress meetings
- Reviewing and approve External Maintenance Period (EMP) management plans, ensuring consistency across the Class, and the Region
- Ensuring cross-communication between Ship Management team, identifying risks, opportunities and issues that are relevant to the Class

**How about you?**
- Tertiary or trade qualifications required in mechanical, electrical, electronic or marine engineering or extensive experience in a related field
- Qualification in project management or relevant industrial experience
- Eligible for accreditation as Certified Practitioner in Asset Management (CPAM) or Certified Senior Practitioner in Asset Management (CSAM)
- Minimum of seven years’ ship-related technical experience
- Familiar with maintenance optimisation using Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM)
- Familiar with maintenance scheduling using an Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system
- Experience with Navy maintenance management practices
