About the role
- As the Head of Business Development & Solution design you will be responsible for the leadership and development on all matters related to new business development and new business, identifying new prospects at a senior level to understand current state with respect to their transport and logistics and design a future state model by leveraging the multi modal capability across AU and NZ delivering cost savings and efficiency improvements. You will possess an ability to translate customer needs into viable operational processes offering industry leading service levels
- You form part of the business development team reporting directly to the General Manager - Key Business Development & Solutions, contributing towards all state specific matters related to business development. Your responsibilities will be nationally focused, with equal attention and consideration given to all direct reports in your focus area as directed by your General Manager. Key to your success will be your capacity to meet businesses financial objectives including revenue targets, desired profitability levels and revenue quality.

You will be responsible for all Key Business Development & Solutions Managers (KBDM’s), ensuring effective and efficient solutions are provided to match customers’ requirements and ensuring KBDM’s are focused on securing profitable contracts with customers.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for engaging and leading C suite discussions
- Leading the design process, layout costing and preparation of proposals to customers
- Work in coordination with sales, operations and customer service teams to develop in-country transport and logistics solutions and pricing in support of new business growth
- Provide customers or other TGE functions with expertise in supply chain management, networks, processes, systems, modelling and optimization; including the ability to analyze the current state and design/re-engineer a better solution
- Plan and implement the overall customer supply chain strategy.
- Determine key supply chain KPIs.
- Suggest solutions for process improvements.
- Identify process bottleneck and implement solutions in a timely manner
- Collect data and perform statistical analysis for ad hoc project assignments.
- Develop and maintain TGE knowledge base by documenting/updating case studies and best practices (e.g. transport and logistics supply chain management processes, quantitative supply chain analysis/optimization techniques, supply chain systems, etc)
- Coach and mentor other members of the team to develop their skills and encourage a one team culture
- Any other duties as assigned by the Chief of Sales at the time relevant to this function.
