**What’s the opportunity?**

Growth and change at Vocus has resulted in a great opportunity for a commercially savvy, people focused leader looking to join our challenger business. In a roll up your sleeves environment, your role will lead and enable the Retail Division (Telecommunication and Energy) to comply with its’ regulatory requirements working closely with the leaders across the Retail Team, and the Legal & Regulatory team.

Working across our core brands, Commander, Dodo, and iPrimus, your risk, compliance and regulatory expertise, knowledge of the Energy and Telco markets, and ability to engage and influence a broad group of stakeholders whilst keeping the customer ‘front of mind’ will be key to your success in this role.

**Your key responsibilities will include**
- Build, lead, and develop an engaged Risk & Compliance team.
- Work collaboratively with business stakeholders to identify, design, build and implement process and system controls to drive compliance with Regulatory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with business owners to ensure operational readiness where there are ‘new’ or ‘changes’ to regulatory requirements.
- Design, build, implement and run a ‘self assessment’ process across the Retail Division to test processes / systems to ensure compliance with regulatory instruments.
- Educating the business owners and their teams on regulatory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with the Legal team and business owners to execute on reporting and ad hoc tasks required by governing bodies.
- Support the business to respond and provide feedback to Regulators on new or changes to Regulatory instruments and / or policy.

**Your experience will include**
- Experience in leading an engaged Regulatory or Risk & Compliance team in the Energy and Telco industry.
- Excellent analytical skills and strong understanding of key regulatory frameworks, risk and compliance frameworks and principles.
- Ability to translate Regulation into business requirements that can be operationalised by a business in process, people (including offshore) and systems.
- Ability to put in place self assessment audit processes into a multi-layered organisation.
- Experience educating and partnering with business stakeholders to improve understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to put in place process / system controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Experience in managing the impact of change both from an organisational and people perspective, including offshore environments.
- Demonstrated negotiation and conflict management skills in a Regulatory, Risk or Compliance role.
- Demonstrated experience in influencing and managing senior stakeholders across all different functional domains.
- Capability to build strong and effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders across different cultures.
