The design team at Arq is instrumental in helping shape client engagements for product and customer experience design at varying stages of the product lifecycle. We are looking for a Product Design Lead to strengthen our capability and to support our growth plans. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented and experienced Product Designer to be part of the team creating Australia's most popular and high-profile digital products. We are looking for someone who is passionate about digital experiences and has the attitude and skill to work in our award-winning design team.

- Actively contribute to building a world class team of Product Designers by providing mentorship, leadership, and client outreach
- Spread Product Design knowledge and best practices to our in-house design teams across our 3 locations
- Contribute to and grow your design planning, leadership, governance and strategy skills

- This role reports to the Design Director and comes with excellent career growth opportunities.**Key responsibilities**:

- Plan enterprise scale design sprints and design delivery engagements backed by a strong understanding of end-to-end design process
- Strong foundational UX skill set across user research, usability, rapid prototyping and iterative design development
- Thought leadership in the areas of applied design thinking and human centred design philosophies
- Familiarity with designing for business viability and technical feasibility (DVF model)
- Ability to assess the design maturity of businesses and input this for design operating model frameworks
- Contribute to and lead design presale activities including concept design and proposals
- Own the design engagement delivery across the conceptualisation to delivery phases
- Adopt a advisory and consulting approach to solve client and project challenges
- Passion for outcome-based mindset - driving a holistic product outcome for business and users alike
- Strong appreciation of platform conventions and best practices including inclusive design
- Mentor junior and mid-level designers in the team
- Contribute to ongoing efforts to Arq design strategy and service offer development

**We want you onboard if you have**:

- Successfully shipped digital experiences (mobile, web, wearables, voice)
- Multi-disciplinary skill set encompassing more than 1 area of specialisation across user research, usability, strategic UX, visual design, motion design, and/or service design
- Exceptional design communication skills, including the ability to effectively narrate rationale behind the design solution options
- A passion for people management and/or mentorship
- Validated a range of design options with users using apt techniques
- Lead complex design engagements in a multi-vendor and/or multi-stakeholder set up
- A strong appreciation for the underlying technology and associated limitations

**It will be a plus if you have**:

- A design, HCI, computer science or psychology related degree
- Industry recognition for your work
- Active design community involvement
- Experience designing in CMS, DXP, and design system environments
