**About the Role**:
The purpose of this role is to provide resources, programs, and events that encourage the involvement of children under 10 and their families in different aspects of community life. This involves promoting an accessible and inclusive approach to Community Development that focuses on the needs of children and families in the Bayside community, in line with pertinent Council planning processes and strategic initiatives. Furthermore, this role lead efforts that acknowledge and support inter-generational activities, bringing together individuals of all ages.

You will be responsible for:

- Delivery of the Families & Children Services Network.
- Delivery of the Public Housing Estate Children’s Program.
- Delivery of Intergenerational Activities.
- Delivery of Council’s annual Children’s Week Event.
- Use of evidence-based practice that supports Community engagement, capacity building and development.
- Support and delivery of Parent information sessions that support child development.
- Funding submissions aligned to Health and Wellbeing Plan goals.

**Key Selection Criteria**:

- Tertiary qualification in Community Development, Education, the Early Years or a related field desirable.
- Understanding of early years and education services and the role of Council in supporting mainstream and community-based services for people experiencing vulnerability.
- Experience, understanding and commitment to implementing a community development approach in the development of effective programs and activities to meet the needs of the local community.
- Ability to facilitate and lead activities and programs.
- Demonstrated experience in Community Development research, building community capacity and ability to network with peers to identify opportunities to support the development of innovative programs and activities.

**Mandatory pre-employment requirements**:

- Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check.
- Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check
- Be willing to undertake a psychometric assessment.
