The Role
As Policy and Engagement Officer, Regional Economic Development, you will assist with collaboration across government and with communities to promote whole-of-government priorities. This is achieved through the delivery of policy and engagement activities that support economic growth and sustainability for Queensland's regions. A high level of professionalism and the ability to work collaboratively, develop effective relationships and partnerships are important attributes in delivering well researched, strategic advice to support the Government's focus on regional Queensland.
- Undertake research and contribute to the development of timely, and authoritative advice on a range of regional issues and opportunities and support the development of strategies to optimise cross agency collaboration.
- Contribute to the preparation of reports, project management documentation, briefing notes, presentations and correspondence.
- Maintain collaborative working relationships across Queensland Government agencies based in the regions.
- Provide administrative, correspondence, financial, and other general assistance to the team.
- Provide administrative and secretariat support to committees, advisory councils and working groups.
- Support the design and implementation of business systems, processes and tools to facilitate the effective operations of the team.

About you
There are no mandatory requirements for this role however
- Demonstrated experience working across government within a collaborative environment would be highly regarded.
- Possession of relevant tertiary qualifications in public policy or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
- Travel away from the centre may be required. This may involve travel outside of normal office hours and/or overnight accommodation on occasion.
