If you are willing to roll your sleeves up and contribute to this journey, we would love to hear from you **About the Role**: **Reporting to**: Cargo Readiness & Bookings Supervisor **Employment Type**: Permanent, Full-Time **Work Location**: Melbourne As a Cargo Readiness and Bookings Officer, you will oversee and manage the export cargo cycle, ensuring bookings, customer requirements, and operational processes align to deliver seamless, on-time shipping solutions. **The role and responsibilities will include**: Oversee and control the export cargo cycle to ensure clients meet deadlines and cargo is delivered on time while adhering to industry standards. Handle booking amendments, firming of bookings, and pre-call cleaning activities, ensuring all booking elements are in "READY" status before vessel cut-off. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve booking and cargo readiness issues. Generate, analyze, and update cargo readiness reports, ensuring accuracy in vessel schedules, container placements, and terminal receivals. Act as the first escalation point for internal departments and assist customers with queries related to PRA issues, damaged containers, and export container removals. Ensure compliance with booking policies and procedures by using tools, and online guides, while addressing discrepancies and maintaining data accuracy. Commit to continuous improvement by addressing repetitive errors, educating customers, and supporting the Global Business Service (GBS) team to enhance customer experiences. **To be successful in this role, you will need**: Tertiary qualifications in business, international business, supply chain/logistics, or equivalent experience. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in shipping and logistics environments. Knowledge of terminal/transport operations and global shipping ports. High-level Microsoft Excel skills and sound decision-making abilities. Strong problem-solving, negotiating, and analytical skills with the ability to work under pressure. A team and customer-oriented approach, with strong communication and administration skills. The ability to work on multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently To be eligible for this role, you must be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident.
