Join us in leading the positive impact on the lives of children and young people in out-of-home care in Ipswich We're on the lookout for a Therapeutic Support Manager to lead our care team. Our care team members provide tailored therapeutic interventions aimed at addressing the unique needs of each child or young person we care for to help them overcome trauma and build resilience on their journey to adulthood in Out of Home Care.
**The Role**:
Our Therapeutic Support Managers are responsible for the delivery of high-quality therapeutic care service’s that promote the emotional, social and behavioural needs of children and young people in out of home care.
Our services are delivered within our trauma informed therapeutic framework CALM and is responsible for the leadership, supervision, support and development of the care team of Therapeutic Youth Workers. The Therapeutic Support Manager forms part of the child or young persons larger care team and works collaboratively with internal and external care team members such as Clinical Specialists, Caseworkers and other important people in the child or young persons life to provide high quality therapeutic care and assist young people to heal from trauma and achieve their full potential. To ensure quality service delivery and leadership to our care teams our Therapeutic Support Managers provide direct care to children and young people throughout the working week.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate, review, and monitor the delivery of supports and services specified in individual plans for children and young people.
- Creatively address barriers, encouraging actions that foster independence, reduce risks, and drive positive outcomes for our young charges.
- Maintain meticulous records, adhering to policies and procedures, including records of the life stories of children and young people.
- Provide mentoring, coaching, and performance oversight for the direct Care Team, ensuring their growth and success.
- Ensure care is provided in strict adherence to all legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the Service Specialist to guarantee services are compliant with legislative and funding requirements, adapting to evolving statutory needs.
- Support and supervise our care team in fostering a safe and harmonious work environment free from bullying, discrimination, and harassment.
- Develop and manage rosters for required services, ensuring adequate staffing levels and meeting after-hours on-call service needs.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop, implement, and report on the operational program and budget.
- Ensure the ongoing quality, safety, suitability, and maintenance of the care home.
- Support our care team in adopting trauma-informed therapeutic practices through training, group supervision, and secondary consultation.
- Provide oversight of quality and compliance audits for our service’s, ensuring adherence to best practices and Standards of Care/Accreditation and Monitoring requirements.
- Ensure the ongoing implementation of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) practices for enhanced services and system efficiency.
- Lead the implementation of children and young peoples Positive Behaviour Support Plans in day-to-day care.
- Provide therapeutic leadership and trauma-informed advice to support program development, drawing on practice expertise and contemporary research for positive outcomes.
- Oversee the continuous implementation of ongoing support and care team development through training, consultation, and practice advice development.
- Contribute to sector and stakeholder relationships through professional and collaborative engagement.
**About You**:
We are looking for a Therapeutic Support Manager who has a demonstrated passion for helping children and young people heal and grow through understanding and support. Experienced in providing accountable leadership in meeting the needs of individuals. Be committed to meticulous documentation and reporting with a deep commitment to the safeguarding of vulnerable children and young people.
You should have availability to start at 6am or 7am twice a week and undertake your role from both site and office based.
Essential qualifications include a current paid working with children check, national police check, valid driver’s license, and a suitable minimum qualification suited to the program requirements.
