**Respiratory Protection Safety Technician**

**Royal Melbourne Hospital**
- Part Time Fixed Term for 12 months, working 4 days per week, including every Friday.
- Responsible for guiding our staff on the correct use of N95/P2 respiratory protection equipment, conducting fit testing, and maintaining detailed records.
- Role involves managing data, so proficiency in Excel is highly desirable.

**About the role**:
This role is part of a team that administers the hospital wide Respiratory Protection Program (RPP) to ensure that effective controls, including the use of respirators, are in place to mitigate respiratory hazards and are implemented in a manner that provides the expected level of protection. Fit testing is one of the most important parts of the RPP, as it is the only recognised tool to assess the fit and size of a specific respirator model to the face of the user.

In consultation with the RMH RPP team, Infection Prevention and Control, Occupational Health and Safety, Supply and other key stakeholders, this position involves implementing and administering key components of our RPP including:

- Fit testing on N95/P2 respirators.
- Recording and reporting fit test results.
- Training staff in the donning/doffing of N95 respirators.
- Assisting in the administration of the fit testing program.

**About You**:

- Proficiency in quantitative fit testing protocols will be viewed favourably.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent communication skills.
- Experience in health and safety practices related to respiratory protection.
- Familiarity with the operation of a public healthcare facility is a plus.
