Westpac is looking for a creative and driven senior communications professional to join our corporate affairs team.

This Corporate Affairs Lead role will support the internal and external communications strategy for the Consumer Division with a key focus on our Mortgages Line of Business.

In this role, you will be a trusted communications adviser responsible for developing and delivering employee communications and events, assisting with media relations, and working with our internal and external business partners to share news and updates.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Developing and delivering end-to-end communications strategies to support business objectives and employee engagement
- Identifying and leveraging opportunities to share stories and news across internal and external channels, including media and social media
- Supporting with media relations, including managing media enquiries and positioning in collaboration with our Group Media team
- Producing written and video communication materials
- Management of internal All Ins and events to support the Consumer Division's strategic priorities and communications
- Effectively identifying and managing business issues
- Providing communications and reputational counsel, in collaboration with our Group Media and Government & Industry Affairs teams.

**What do I need?**
- Strong corporate communication and media relations experience. Experience in the financial services industry is welcome but not essential
- Extensive proactive integrated communications and issues management experience
- Understanding of digital and social media channels and communication.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills across all styles of content, including a range of employee communications channels
- Ability to build and manage strong relationships with senior executives and a range of stakeholders and business partners, including journalists as required
- Strong creativity and ability to develop communications activities and campaigns that engage employees
- Great written and verbal communication skills.
