Procurement & Logistics Officer

**About the role**

UGL is searching for an experienced Procurement and Logistics Officer to join our team in Perth, WA. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will join a successful and expanding team that supports UGL’s telecommunications and technology projects.

In this role, your primary focus will be to collaborate with project engineering, construction, and maintenance teams to order and purchase materials and services within specified budgets and required time frames. This includes regular interaction with suppliers and subcontractors to build positive and professional relationships to ensure that pricing, quality and schedule outcomes are achieved.
Other key responsibilities of this role include:

- Working with key project stakeholders to develop requisitions and purchase orders to source materials and/or services from vendors ensuring each step in the process aligns with company policies and procedures
- Influencing pricing provided by vendors to ensure that costs are within budgetary limits
- Tracking deliveries and intervening, where required, and escalating any issues that may negatively impact the works
- Building and maintaining a Supplier data base and project tracking registers for materials and services
- Maintain cost effective transport logistics by continually reviewing freight providers and rates to ensure the highest level of service quality at the most competitive cost
- Coordinate with suppliers, transport companies and construction teams for timely pick up and/ or delivery of goods and or services in line with project schedules

If you are a

Key qualifications, experience and skills that will see you succeed in this role include:

- Tertiary qualifications in Business/Supply Chain/Commerce/Finance, or a related discipline is preferred
- Experience in a supply chain or procurement function ideally within a construction or project environment
- Previous experience using SAP, or a similar system is desired
- Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands.
