- Manage governance processes to ensure appropriate consultation, endorsement, implementation and oversight of the organisation's developing disaster and emergency management capability.
- Ensure that QCS' disaster, risk, and business continuity management activities comply with current legal and regulatory obligations.
- Identify and report risks or impediments to the delivery of the DEMU's objectives and advise on the establishment of mitigation actions.
- As required, provide advice to senior management on insights or risks to achieving organisation-wide resilience objectives.
- Establish records management processes and reporting mechanisms to enable accurate monitoring and reporting.
- Form and maintain quality relationships with external stakeholders, including other government agencies, to support the development of evidence-based, disaster and emergency management policy and practice and identify opportunities for the implementation of best-practice approaches.

- As required, attend professional forums, committee meetings and similar.
