Job Description Summary
The Field Manager will contribute to the project through managing daily operations and all aspects of Project field delivery. The Project consists of multiple work types and clients, and you will be reporting directly into the Regional Manager.
The Project delivery model comprises of a predominant internal workforce and subcontractors.
The Field Manager will manage the performance of people, projects, and processes. This includes primary responsibility for planning, execution and closing activities necessary to successfully Build, Maintain and Decommission Optus Networks, Uecomm Networks and Power Utility safely.
Willing and able to be part of a rostered-On Call Availability, including working outside normal working hours on a regular basis.

Nature of position: Permanent, Full Time

The Field Manager will contribute to the project through managing daily operations and all aspects of Project field delivery. The Project consists of multiple work types and clients, and you will be reporting directly into the Regional Manager.

The Field Manager will manage the performance of people, projects, and processes. This includes primary responsibility for planning, execution and closing activities necessary to successfully Build, Maintain and Decommission Optus Networks, Uecomm Networks and Power Utility safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to ensure the highest standard of safety is maintained for all stakeholders at all times.
- Ensure compliance to the contract’s safety by participating in regular audits and reviews of the system.
- Develop constructive and mutually beneficial relationships with the Client, Contractors, and team members
- Act as the “point of contact” between your Manager and the Field Workforce to ensure mínimal disruption to both operations and construction activities
- Determine required resources to manage project tasks including selection and appointment of resources and development of cohesive project teams
- Management of site activities necessary to attain project scope
- Manage and owner of site documents including but not limited to risk register, change register, variations register
- Determine required resources to manage project tasks including required contractor resources
- Optimise the utilisation of existing business systems, processes, practices and equipment to ensure sustainable, efficient and effective outcomes
- Coordinate all activities across the project, including scheduling/programming of works.
- Responsible for ensuring that everyone that undertakes work for a project has the correct training and has valid licences..
- Conduct toolbox meetings; communicate policies, procedures and practices to work teams.
- Manage the asset data for the site in the relevant Work Order Management System ensuring it is kept up to date.
- Ensure all recoverable and chargeable costs on damaged assets are entered in the management system.
- Understand the project vision and ensure it is delivered within project timeframes.
- Maintain spending within limits of authority and maintain costs within budget requirements
- Coordination of actual site start up (i.e. mandatory pre-start activities) including delivery materials (e.g. FIM) in coordination with the Construction Manager.
- Works coordination with related 3rd parties such as landowners and regulatory authorities (e.g. power utility).
- Carry out Pre-works activities including:
- Design and constructability review of all work packs
- Pre-work coordination with 3rd parties (including council inspections)
- Performing a detail site inspection to identify start condition, scope changes and constructability issues.
- Assisting the Stakeholder manager during the pre-work land access notification period.
About You
- Driver’s license.
- Significant experience in an Infrastructure Services environment.
- Experience in civil, telecommunications, and hands-on problem-solving.
- Significant experience in the telecommunications industry.
- Knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure and asset management systems (advantageous).
- Understanding of contract administration.
- Proficiency in the MS office suite.
- Good communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Ability to respond calmy and decisively during a major incident or emergency.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage subcontractors, deal with on-site issues, and quality and safety management.
