**About the role**

The Workplace Technology Specialist is pivotal in ensuring the optimal design, performance, reliability, and scalability of Jemena's Workplace Technology platforms across both cloud and hybrid environments. This role is responsible for leading the planning, design, development, implementation, and management of technology solutions across the landscape to support strategic business initiatives and ensure operational continuity. The role will provide expert advice and consultation to projects and BAU and is a key enabler in the development and execution of the strategy and roadmap.

**Key Responsibilities include**
- ** Strategic Platform Planning**: Collaborating across Digital and Business teams, and third-party vendors and partners to help design long-term technical roadmaps that address business needs, integrate new technologies, scale platform capabilities, and drive efficiency across IT systems.
- ** Operational Excellence**: Ensuring that the platform is robust, resilient, and capable of meeting the service quality standards required by the organization. The Specialist implements best practices for platform management, including monitoring, maintenance, and rapid issue resolution to minimize downtime and service disruptions.
- ** Leadership and Direction**: Leading by example, the Specialist provides guidance and mentorship to Engineers, Operations and other technical staff and teams. They work closely with technology teams to craft the technical direction of our platforms. This role involves shaping the team's approach to projects and strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with the company’s broader goals.

Participation in an on-call 24x7 roster may be required to support some or all platform components, reflecting the essential nature of maintaining high platform availability and performance across Jemena’s operational landscapes.

**Technical skills**:

- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Business, or equivalent work experience.
- Extensive experience managing and optimizing Information Management / Workplace Technology solutions across cloud infrastructure environments (AWS & Azure), O365 and the associated MS product ecosystem
- Demonstrated capability in handling complex SharePoint and Power Platform environments ensuring they are robust, scalable, and fully aligned with business requirements.
- Understanding of how to design, deploy, and manage end to end technology / information management solutions effectively, including cloud and on-premises, security, compliance, and cost management.
- Deep understanding of the Microsoft domain, including in particular the O365 product ecosystem
- Understanding of underlying infrastructure technologies, including Compute, Storage, Backup, and Virtualization.
- Ability to develop and implement robust, scalable, and secure IT solutions that meet current and future business need.
- Experience with IT projects to advise and consult across the domain landscape with a focus on leading project design and implementation phases.
- Skilled in translating complex technical requirements into actionable strategies.
- Knowledge of techniques and tools for monitoring, tuning, and optimizing IT systems to ensure they deliver optimal performance while remaining cost-effective.
- Expertise in strategic planning and technology road mapping.
- Ability to align technical strategies with broader business objectives and anticipate future technology needs.
