**About the Role**
The Multicultural Early Years Outreach Officer works directly with families from multicultural backgrounds to maximises attendance and support inclusion and participation in early childhood services across Darebin.
The role will involve supporting our multicultural children and families;
- To successfully register and enrol in kindergarten and Pre-Prep programs.
- To maximise children’s attendance in kindergarten and Pre-Prep and address any engagement barriers.
- To engage children and families in other childhood supports in their local area, such as Maternal Child Health (MCH), Pre-School Field Officer program, playgroups, English language classes and parenting education.
- To transition from kindergarten to school in collaboration with families, kindergarten services and schools.
**Skills & Experience**
Degree or diploma in a Community development, welfare, social work or related field.
Experience working with families from multicultural backgrounds.
A current employee Working with Children Card and current Victorian Driver’s Licence.
